As a vampire, Lola needs to be in control in all areas of her life. But when she meets Dillion all bets are off the table. Her need for control slips and he commands her body in the bedroom. Lola makes a huge mistake by trusting the wrong person, the life she has found with Dillion gets tested.
I really wanted to like this book. Vampire PNR are my go-to books, so when Blood Hunger was offered to review I jumped on it. And some parts of it were great. The whole BDSM scenes were hot and tantalizing. I liked the way that the author portrayed Lola as a man eater. She took what she wanted and was not ashamed of who she was, well at least not the vampire part anyways. Dillion being the sexy corn-few cowboy was sexy in all his mysterious ways. What’s better, he is a closet Dom. It is like one minute he’s a sweet and shy cowboy, then behind closed doors he will play your body like an instrument. The characters were also well thought out and fun to read, especially Max.
What was confusing to me about the book was the whole vampire aspect. Yes, there was the needing to feed and blood drinking but that was it. I mean at the beginning Lola can tall who is a vampire and who is not. And how all the other vampires can go out in the sun and she cannot. As a vampire lover, every author has a different story to tell and when I read a new one I always try to keep an open mind. It is just strange to find a vampire who is disgusted by rats, bugs, and things that go bump in the night; plus she was not very strong. Then she was turned at 17 yet looks older than that. All vamp books I’ve read either do not age or age very slowly. There also was not many fangs involved which contrary to vampire books.
Overall, it was a good read with a few mistakes here and there. It had great potential but for me it fell flat. I might pick up the next book because the way it ended it felt like there was more to the story. I will definitely be picking up another Beck Robertson because she can write a mean BDSM scene.

Super sexy alpha lead male, if you like your erotica well written and with a great plot this one hits the spot.

I received a copy of this in exchange for a review and was excited to sit down and read it as I enjoy both BDSM erotica and the vampire/ paranormal genre. My standards are quite high and for me to rate a book it must have credible characters and the erotica scenes must be done well. This novel definitely does the job. This is an erotic romance with a good plot and there's a fair amount of tension in it too. I couldn't help but fall in love with Dillon and Lola's romance, the two lead characters have great chemistry and I do hope there's a sequel because if so I will definitely be back for more.

OMG - Such a Great Work - I'm blown away!

I rarely read erotica. I was not sure how it's like but this one blew me away. Beck has blended her unique skills to write this erotic romance. It's very good plot with some conflict. OMG - I was blown away with Dillon and Lola's romance. If you are interested in such a book, you should look no further. Beck will not disappoint you. Highly recommended.

Personajes planos, gran manejo del idioma

Carlos Fuentes, es, sin lugar a dudas, uno de los grandes de la literature hispana. Su manejo del idioma es cómodo, preciso, muy mexicano y muy elegante, el manejo del maestro que conoce, domina, y manda con temple, igualito que Manolo Martínez cuando le salía la corrida. Su personalidad es tan fuerte, que quema el papel y escurre en la tinta. Es por eso que este libro me decepcionó tanto. Tanta personalidad, tanta fuerza, y tanta maestría para contar una historia tan pequeña, tan roñoza y tan pentonta. Qué el gran genio literario se enamore de una mujer, (MUJER) qué deje todo por seguirla, qué pierda su gran amor, puede ser el gran tema. Pero el "gran intelectual" en la historia que nos da Fuentes es un hombre a medias, que no resuelve nada. Su Diana no es nadie, no es nada, es Coca Cola diluída, una "starlet" ("wannabe" como dicen los americanos) hueca y sin perfil, cuyo únicos méritos parecen ser el de usar pomadas de sabores en lugares no mencionables en sociedad de damas potosinas y el de ser víctima ingenua de jugadas de la CIA más viejas y gastadas que mi Volvo. Por favor, o cómo diría Diana, pleeease..... es mucho pujar para salir con un chicharito.... Qué desperdicio de talento, señores. Y sin embargo puedo decir que prefiero leer un mal libro en buen español a un buen libro mal escrito.

Zombie apocalypse with a hot alpha male

It's a world gone mad and the zombie apocalypse has happened, or in this case, invasion of the braindeads. Cathleen Ross spins a fascinating tale of survival in a world where neighbours are eating neighbours, husbands having to kill wives who have turned, and only the strongest and toughest survive.

In the heart of all the craziness is Jack Lang, Navy captain. He's the leader of a group of highly disciplined Navy men who have answered his call to protect the few people there is left to protect from the braindeads. He's strong, tenacious and autocratic. His word is law and everything he does is for the survival of his people. I love Jack. If he wasn't so principled and so filled with integrity, if he wasn't so much about doing what's right for the protection of his people, he's be a total alphahole. As it is, he'd come across as a lot more of an alphahole with the way he treats Ruth, if not for all these qualities of his. Oh! Did I mention he's super hot? How could I forget that? I think it's because my Kindle melted from the heat he generated and it affected my brain!!

Ruth, on the other hand, has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. She's mean, selfish, opinionated, out of touch with reality and ungrateful. She also has the typical god complex that so many successful surgeons and doctors have. I don't understand why Jack likes her as much as he does, but then again, his choices are limited and she is physically attractive. It's a pity her personality is such a pill. It had a huge impact on how much I enjoyed the story. For the most part, I do not mind an independent, strong female character, but she needs to have qualities that make her likable. With Ruth those qualities don't show until almost too late, after she's been given a big dose of the reality of the world she now inhabits, and by then, my opinion of her had already cemented in my mind. After that, she shows a bravery and compassion that is admirable though I find myself hesitating over trusting her to not trample all over Jack after her behaviour in the beginning. It's not till the very end I stop waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The thing I really enjoyed about this story is that it's set in Mosman, an area I'm fairly familiar with. I even had lunch there very recently and saw where the naval base is located. I loved being able to picture in my mind where everything was. I know the Harbour Bridge and the Spit Bridge very well, and have even sat in the traffic while the Spit Bridge was raised to let tall ships through. I loved being able to visualise all of that. It brought so much of the story to life for me.

I would have liked to learn more about the virus, it's origins and finding a cure. I wanted to know why the antiviral worked on one person and not on another. Ms Ross has hinted about most of it but my inquisitive mind wants more information so I hope there will be another book which delves more into it.

It was ok. Characters were a little one-dimensional. She was the "feisty" but "irresistable" heroine in a sea of women-hungry men. He was the "stoic but too-handsome-to-resist" hero. Still, this author can write, which is getting harder and harder to find, so this book is recommended.

Wow. I don’t normally read or watch anything zombie related because I’m such a sook when it comes to anything horror, but this is different. Yes, there were some interesting moments, that didn’t’ sit well with me, but I persisted. This is not a horror. This is essentially a romance, albeit, a different take on romance.
Captain Jack Lang, a hot alpha male with an attitude but for all the best reasons, to save his men and anyone that is saveable. If I needed to be saved and protected, I would definitely want this man to be there for me, no questions asked, but that’s also the practical person in me.
Dr Ruth Parker, initially annoyed the hell out of me. Yes, very strong willed and highly intelligent but when it came to anything practical, dumb as they come. I understood her need for independence and loyalty to her friends and her sense of freedom. She refused to see reason when reason was needed during dangerous times. I soon changed my mind realising it was purely for her own self-preservation. Tough on the outside, but soft when it was needed – eventually that is.
The story had some highlights and some interesting side stories. I loved the connection between the two brothers, even shedding a tear for Mike’s illness and the possibility of finding a cure.
This is definitely a read by the seat of your pants story, in areas of Sydney that I am a little familiar with, which made it possibly more enjoyable, but even if you aren’t familiar, a quick look at a google map would help you there.
I have read a few of Cathleen’s works. She is a wonderful intelligent and entertaining writer, using descriptions that are thought provoking and definitely well worth reading with some great sex scenes.
I struggled in giving this book a 5 star rating, thinking it was more a 4, however, given the thought provoking intelligence and horrifying possibilities and the hope for a cure I had to give it a 5.

I personally would've like to have seen just a little bit more gradual ...

Definitely worth your time.

This is a difficult subgenre of erotica for authors to get right. Boswell succeeds here in creating a very hot, tempting character in Terri and striking the right emotional balance in that of her husband. His ability to handle Terri's "other side" is neither so casual as to seem trivial or unrealistic, nor is it so based that he becomes a true cuckold. The audience is left with a character somewhere in between the worlds of casual swinging and the truly based, degraded cuckold husband.

The scenes are hot and quite descriptive and the erotic tension and build-up, so critical to success in this type of fiction, is well done.

I personally would've like to have seen just a little bit more gradual development in Terri. I felt like Boswell takes her from PTA mom to wanton s!ut just a little too quickly. A little more time with one or two more transitional scenes would've been helpful. Overall, I highly recommend this book, and I'm looking forward to reading Boswell's next which should be coming out shortly.

Thrilling tale begs for more

An exciting tale of a husband discovering the hidden wild streak within his butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-her-mouth wife, Terri. A drunken slip of the tongue at her birthday party reveals that Terri has something of an interesting dating history, particularly in the form of her ex, Chucky, who it turns out she could never - and can never - resist. Husband Bill is shocked at some of the things she got up to with Chucky, but finds himself strangely aroused by the prospect of her misbehaving with him again.

In his debut e-book, Ben Boswell brings a lively, highly readable style to a story that’s full of suspense and all that searing tension that any real fan of wife-sharing erotica will love. Well-crafted characters and sizzling sex scenes mean full satisfaction including a sweet ending that will leave readers eagerly awaiting more from this author.

Entertaining cuckold novella which establishes a formula for Boswell's subsequent writing

Apparently this is the first cuckold story Ben Boswell published in this format. I arrived here after reading a selection of his later works in this genre and you could say that, by extension, my comments on TST apply in a general sense to the others. Here's why.

Boswell uses and reuses a standard Lego-block formula. 30-something couple, upper-middle-class, successful, stable relationship for at least seven years, with young kids. Wife lets slip something about her past or a momentary indiscretion. Husband seizes on this as it unlocks a easy puzzle-box of his own sexual fantasies. Namely, to see or hear recounted (and ultimately to participate in) his wife's rampant infidelity. The story is told mainly from the husband's perspective with plenty of introspective (and often shallow) internal dialog.

Now, here's the next part. Quite remarkably the wife (a model PTA cookie baker) is *always* a closet nymphomaniac who requires just a mild nudge from hubby to jump the bones of one or more willing co-respondents or men of mystery. There's nothing subtle about this revelation: no build up or reluctance - the thought Ka-pow! is the action.

Finally because Boswell is philosophically opposed to "burn the bitch" outcomes, the couple always end up working out a going-forward modus vivendi based on mutual understanding, freedom from jealousy and commit never to hold evidence of their morally questionable actions over each other's heads. Happily ever after.

On to TST....
Plus Factors:
1. Slick wee erotica yarn of novella length that delivers an enjoyable, romping read for the price of a cup of indifferent coffee.
2. Well written at the technical level, with only a few grammatical oddities (e.g 'peaked' instead 'piqued').
3. You can tell that Ben Boswell enjoys writing - it comes though at all times.

Interesting Factors:
TST (like all Boswell's cuck-books) present you with an anomaly. They're well crafted at a level sitting above the usual dashed-off tripe populating the field, and this means you feel compelled to give the author respect and take his efforts seriously. However the central theme runs counter to plausible everyday logic because the storyline itself moves too quickly. It's simply impossible to believe that Terri's rampant sexuality has been buried from her husband for years and all it takes is for a casual mention of Chucky to fire up her boiler so badly that on their second meeting he's banging her brains out and moving onto Level Anal.

That's just rushing it...and stupidly so.

Consequently you're drawn in the opposite direction away from respect and acknowledgment towards treating TST as just another derivative piece of fluffy and implausible erotica. A conflict indeed. I guess what TST needed was another 50 pages to develop the story.

Two Stars Off Factors:
1. The above mentioned rush-rush-rush. TST could have been so much better with more tension and a delicate defrosting.
2. Boswell's subsequent carpal tunnel overuse of the same basic storyline building blocks in his other cuckold novellas.
3. Permission to Believe is diluted by the character's implausible actions.
4. Sexual hotness description and dialog stay consistently at the Medium level - and thus the impact of its detailed elements become diluted through repetition and recycling.

3.5 Stars - a Satisfactory read. A solid, very solid B.

Para mi no se cumplieron todas las expectativas que tenía de esta biología después de haber leído los comentarios de otros usuarios, fue bastante obvio el giro que iba a dar la historia desde el momento en que la protagonista conoció a Martín, honestamente acabe la historia porque no me gusta dejar cosas inconclusas pero la historia difícilmente engancha.

Hace unas semanas llegué al Séptimo Cielo, pero después de leer esta segunda parte creo que prefiero quedarme en "El Quinto Infierno"... sí... oh sí, eso es en definitiva! Y más si el único y hermoso Martín está ahí, conmigo, y me da esos masajes en los pies y otras cosas que sabe hacer!

Esta es una novela corta, pero vaya manera de haber sido escrita. Verónica supo plantear perfectamente en estas páginas todo tipo de pensamientos, sentimientos y situaciones, nos deja claro como se dieron las cosas y lo hace con una narrativa clara, precisa y perfectamente comprensible, demostrándonos que, como dije en una ocasión, la cantidad de páginas de un libro no tiene nada que ver con la calidad del mismo. Esta novela y la anterior son una demostración que, así como dicen que los perfumes vienen en los frascos más pequeños, las mejores historias también pueden venir en los libros más cortos.

Estoy segura que después de leer esta historia, comprenderán que el amor viene en diversas formas, tamaños, colores y situaciones, y que puede llegar a ser tan real, hermoso e intenso, que las hará llegar hasta donde sea por él, aunque tengan que vivirlo en el mismísimo "Quinto Infierno".

All I can say is Damn!!!!! I definitely enjoyed this book. The sex is off the chain and the story line keeps you entertained and left wanting more. I love how the main characters Dutchess and Marcus have fun with each other and also connect so deeply on a physical level. What a spectacular story!!!!! The journey of these hot greek vampires continues. When you think a story couldn’t get any better, Ella Frank proved me wrong by making this series even more interesting.

So, this time we get to know more about Isadora and Diomêdês, her sire, how she was converted into a vampire, some of her past and the romance she had with Elias. She’s a powerful, strong, intelligent vampire, and of course she’s hot. We got to know more about her; her connection with Diomêdês, how their bond built and despite it no longer beats, she has a heart and she can love too.

Isadora starts where Alasdair was left off. Elias had Isadora captive and he wants to kill her and all her kind because, as he said, his purpose in life is to kill them. But Elias loves Isadora...they are in love with each other and here is the problem, Isadora will have to choose between doing the right thing or to follow her heart.

I’m so excited with this book, we got the chance to know more and more and more about the characters ;) More Leonidas, Alasdair and Vasilios. There are more intense sex scenes between them that will make you be part of this hot trio. Diomêdês is my favorite sire thus far! His love for Isadora is admirable. We got some glimpse of Thanos and Paris' encounter, so I can’t wait to know more about them and how this series will end!

Isadora can’t be read as a standalone, you have to read Alasdair book first. There is M/M, M/M/M. M/F, and F/F. Thankfully no cliffhangers! Be ready to get caught up in this story. Be ready for a lot of hotness and sweet moments. This books will leave all your emotions on the surface. ALL THE FEELS!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend it to M/M fans, paranormal fans, and romance fans… it’s an Ella Frank’s book #nuffsaid

This is the second book in the Masters Among Monsters series and this is even better than the first! The prior book in this series ended on quite a cliffhanger and this one picks up right where the last one left off. I was honestly concerned with the fact that Alasdair, Vasilios and Leo’s story wasn’t anywhere near finished. These concerns were immediately put aside however, once I realized that even though this book is titled Isadora and may focus on her story, this is also a continuation of the entire story as a whole and all of the characters that’ve been introduced up to this point are featured here. I found this writing style to be interesting and engaging since I typically find that authors focus on one primary couple and the secondary characters may get a mention or two, but not play a pivotal point in the current story as is the case here. The uniqueness of the writing style added to my overall enjoyment of this story. Things are heating up quite nicely between the sexy as sin trio and Leo’s loyalty is questioned here in a significant way by his lovers. There’s a few twists thrown into the mix when it comes to Leo’s other than human status and explanations are provided that make things much more clear as to what exactly is going on. Leo’s going to have to make some extremely important decisions here that will affect him for the rest of his existence and when his former friends are brought into the fold his decision becomes less clear and more unsure than ever. I loved the danger and sensuality between Leo and his vampire lovers and found myself hoping for them to find a way to work through their current obstacles and be together in the end. This is one of the most powerful and intriguing trios I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about and I hope to see much more of them as this series progresses.
Isadora is the focus of this book and her history with Elias is complicated and filled with lies and betrayal. She kept the truth about herself hidden from him all this time and now that he’s aware of exactly what she is he’s unfortunately found himself faced with the task of being responsible for her destruction. The brief time they shared together many years ago has stayed with both of them and he’s finding it difficult to follow through with his assigned task. She feels the same pull toward him and while she’d love nothing more than to hurt him for his recent actions, she is helpless against the feelings she still harbors for him and is reluctant to take his life. I loved how each of them is torn over whether to follow their hearts or what is expected of them and was back and forth on which way this will ultimately go. I especially enjoyed the relationship dynamic between Elias, Isadora and her ancient and creator Diomêdês and some of the scenes with these three are off the charts hot! I love how this author weaves such beautiful love stories within such a dark and deadly atmosphere and this beauty in darkness is compelling and leaves me wanting more! I highly recommend not only this book, but this entire series to anyone to read and I strongly suggest starting with book one in order to have a better understanding of everything going on here. I look forward to reading much more from this author in the future and to finding out what the future holds in store for Isadora, Elias and Diomêdês.

Who Truly Are The Bad Guys?

Ella Frank continues to show her diversity and talent as a writer in Isadora, the second book in her Masters Among Monsters series. Frank does an amazing job blending the mythological with the paranormal and providing quite the lesson in Greek Mythology.

Gods and vampires...those who were said to rule the world and those who ruled the darkness. Magically inclined beings and deadly abominations...it's still unclear as to how all of the parts make a whole, but Frank is taking readers on one hell of a journey of discovery, and it's one that's sure to arouse and entice as much as perplex and mystify.

Fate…Destiny…Free Will

Those words play a huge part in Leo, Elias, and Paris’ role in the chaos – the position their creators put them in and one they’re unsure of due to extenuating circumstances and emotions out of their control. These three men are destined to destroy an entire populous of creatures but what seems to be driving them now is beyond even the reach of the gods, which has completely unbalanced the present and the future, causing decisions to be made that will either leave them in the hands of monsters or without those they have come to desire and perhaps even love.

But which force will win out is still to be determined because there’s still much to be learned and revealed. Neither Elias, Leo, nor Paris truly understand their role in the world they’ve all been thrust into; in fact, Paris is completely oblivious even though he seems to wield a power that could rival anyone.

Ella Frank holds these characters’ secrets close to the vest in order to set the stage for what’s to come. The buildup is beautifully done because all of the players have to be introduced and readers have to clearly understand the position that all of the characters find themselves in right or wrong…good or bad – but those two expressions don’t seem powerful enough because in the grand scheme of things, there’s a reason why both sides were created, and it will be up to the gods and Ella Frank to determine how it all plays out and what the cost will be for those whose choices will either seal everyone’s fate or eternally free them from a life worse than death.

“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” That seems to be the path that both sides have resorted to, but it’s still not clear to me who the friends and enemies are. As much as I’ve been told to abhor vampires because they are merciless killers, the deep emotions that they have for each other and the lengths they’re willing to go to, to save one of their own speaks volumes about their kind. Their bond is more than just the blood that flows between them, which is interesting because these beings are said to have no heart and no feelings and yet, Isadora, Diomedes, Alasdair, Thanos, Vasilios, and Eton seem to be consumed with those same things they are not meant to have, which continues to beg the question – who truly are the good guys and bad guys? Which is the question I’m dying to find out!
