Good Short Stories...

I liked the short descriptions leading to the act, but the characters seemed too over worked to be genuine. The length was good for each story, but still left little time for any real exposition. There is as little bit of the writer, fumbling over certain phrases, that take the reader out of the story. I would have liked to have seen more conflict, and drama, and more fallibility to the characters. That said, this is by far the best sex stories I have read in terms of: themes, character actions and overall pacing. I found myself extremely excited during the writer's "hottest scenes". Since this is pure fantasy, you must suspend all disbelief, in order for the stories to make any sense, although, I must admit, it works. Great job keeping me reading to the end.

I tried these ones for something different, babysitter scenario did not really appeal to me personally, but that is why I bought this one after reading some of LEXI's other material. The stories are super hot and I get incredibly turned on every time I read them. I've read them while jerking off many times to satisfaction and I imagine they would be fun stories for couples too, as in reading them aloud to each other etc.

Puts any of that crap you read in Penthouse Forum to shame, these stories are quality, although they all the same basic format, so you don't want to read a heap in one go. I really enjoyed these ones.

Nice short read, HEA, no cliffhanger

Bentley and Sierra grew up in the same town, each the product of a single-parent home. Bentley is the perpetual playboy who avoids relationships in favor of one night stands.
Sierra is a strong but sweet young lady lacking the experience to deal with someone like Bentley on his own terms, hence the stuttering and stammering when he’s near.
When their parents decide to marry, making them step-brother/step-sister, Bentley realizes that getting the gorgeous woman underneath him is the last thing he should do.
En route to their parents wedding, a snow storm forces them to take shelter in a rustic cabin. With no electric and little food, long-denied passion ignites and they end up with several days with nothing to fill their time, except sex.
The sexual scenes in this book were hot. It was written in a first person multiple POV but didn’t get confusing. It does have a HEA and no cliffhanger, which I appreciate.
One thing I found a little disconcerting- Bentley goes on a road trip carrying a duffle full of liquor and condoms, but not a stitch of clothing. The number of condoms carried was a point of contention for Sierra. However, when they had sex - the condoms weren’t mentioned, much less used. A little odd.

Novella Two - Caged
Cage & Tripp Garrett are brothers separated in age by elevens months. Being semi-pro fighters, they train every day. And every day, one brother tries to ignore the feelings he has for Lily, the ever-present, gym owner’s daughter, while the other brother watches.
When one takes the initiative and asks Lily out for drinks, the three end up in a ménage that is satisfying to all. The next morning, insecurity forces the brother who’s fallen head over heels in love, to flee before Lily awakens.
The feelings seem sincere and heartwarming. The characters are relatable and the comradery between brothers is good. Perhaps a bit more insight into the relationship before they fell into bed would’ve been nice. There were a couple of parts that could’ve had a little better flow. It was a nice short read with a HEA and no cliffhanger.

Destroyed by the Bad Boy by Madison Collins is double the fun with two hot novellas that are 4 stars each!

Each of these are a standalone with no cliffhangers, but leaves you wanting to read more. They are both for adult readers because of the steamy parts. And yes the second one is two males(brothers) and one female.

The first story is Stranded. This is the ultimate read about the soon to be hot stepbrother that is every girls fantasy. Sierra is on the way to her mother's wedding to Bentley's dad when a horrible storm hits. It forces her and Bentley to take shelter in a little cabin in the middle of nowhere.

They are left with little to eat and not much to do...thank goodness one of the few things Bentley packed was a bottle of alcohol!

As the night goes on and the alcohol levels get higher the two push to the surface their feeling about each other and it is smoking hot! They find one heck of a way to keep each other warm till they can get back on the road. But Bentley has always been the kind of guy that loves them and leaves them. And they are going to be siblings!?! How could they continue with this once they leave the safety of their little cabin?

The second story was just as amazing. Caged is about two brothers, Tripp and Cage Garett, who both want a chance to have more alone time with their trainer’s sexy daughter, Lily.

She is one feisty girl and ready for the challenge of two top fighter...the only problem is one of the brothers wants more than a night of fun. He wants Lily all for himself. What will these fighters do when pushed past their breaking points? Can love find a way or will a family be torn apart over a girl?

Both of these are sexy must reads...they are so much fun seeing how it shows both points of views from the girls and the guys. The scenes are hot and flow in both are fast and fun.

This story was smoking hot! The fantasy sequences were amazing and let's say the imagery of the writing left me a bit hot under the collar! This is a sexy and fun read that is not to be missed! Two hot dominant males, one submissive but feisty heroine and a vivid imagination takes you a scorching ride.

OMG….LOVED it. My 1st book by this author and can I tell you, the release of pent up tension and emotion. “Two men finally taking mastery over her. She’d dreamed of it and never had the time or inclination to think about it before. The storm allowed all of them to start a new life.” I’m speechless because to a great extent, I think many women have this fantasy of being taken and mastered by two men. Independent, resourceful and used to speaking our minds, the fantasy of wanting to let the work world and issues of being “large and in charge” be taken away and handled by not one, but two dominant men. Mixed feelings about the name calling and certain aspects of the role play, but it was H.O.T. hot. Received book as a Blushing Books review.

This was quite an honest and interesting take on three people, Narah Collins, who is an electrician, and carpenters Levi Coker and Braint Lewis, who all are working on the Wolverine Lodge, and end up being trapped together by a winter storm. Her fantasies take her to so many places, but what happens when reality kicks in with three people all sexually charged and willing to explore? What I think makes this story more unique than most, is that none of them have every done this before, it’s all by the seat of their pants, and it isn’t perfect. Lots of fantasies happened during the evening in each of their own minds. Is this all a fluke of the raging snow storm, or will they want to continue to explore and play together?

Something Real

I selected Something Real as one of the books on my January reading list because I wanted to include a new-to-me author. All the other books on my list are by authors I have read and enjoyed before so I thought included a new author would be a nice change.

Something Real was a relatively short read. I finished it in a little over two hours while riding on a plane. The story was slated as an erotic romance; however, I just never felt that it didn't quite reach the reach a truly erotic level, even with the BDSM elements. Additionally the story had these odd transitions. The characters would seem to be thinking, saying, or doing something and then it would seem as if something different was happening in the next instance.

Overall, the primary characters, Marcy Townsend and Aaron Derrick were likable as individuals. Unfortunately readers didn't have much of an opportunity to absorb them together as a couple. More than half of the book is spend without the couple "officially" meeting after their extremely brief encounter in a cafe. There is a series of close calls and teaser meetings but their real meeting didn't occur until halfway into the story (my Kindle was on 54% when it happened). Because of that, the story felt as if it was dragging, a bit necessarily.

The first sensual encounter occurs between the couple when my Kindle was at 80% and their first, and only, sexual encounter occurs at 86% into the story. The climax of the story was fairly anti-climatic. More of a dramatic episode from Marcy because she didn't communicate a previous trauma that occurred in her past to Aaron.

At a little over 100 pages, Something Real, felt as it was missing a significant portion of the "story." At the book's price point, I was definitely hoping for a more robust read. Marcy and Aaron's story ended before any depth was given to anything other than the one sexual encounter between them. I was hoping for an epilogue or something. But there was just an ending. Perhaps there will be more from the couple in other books but at this point I am a bit hesitant reading more in the series after this one.

I definitely did not hate the story, it was sexy with its hints of sexy -- polyamory, rope bondage, exhibitionism -- it just seemed as if it missed the mark on a potent delivery.

It's something real.

One moment that I love in any type of romance is something that readers don't often see in romance books. Or at least it isn't something that I've seen in books that I've read. I'm talking about the moment when two characters realize that it has been each other all along. That "You!" moment where it all comes together in the end. That is what I adored the most with Abigail Grey's Something Real. The moment Marcy and Aaron meet, sparks fly. In fact, it seems as if Aaron's need for someone to watch after comes front and center in a sweet way. He notices Marcy longing for a sweet treat and the magnetic pull she's got on him pushes Aaron into action. However fleeting their first meeting was, it plays a big role in their thoughts and actions for the rest of the book. I found myself waiting on edge for that "You!" moment. Then as that moment neared I had a smile on my face because I knew it was going to be fun. And it was. The whole story was a mix of sweet and sultry. Their chemistry sizzled and jumped off the page. I wanted to lend a helping hand as Marcy struggled with the events in her past. She wanted to come out of the shell she hid away in after her accident and it was finally the right time to do so. After the end of the relationship with his ex-submissive, Aaron hid away from his friends until fate brought him to the cafe. It only takes one brief moment for him to be drawn towards Marcy. Together, they heel and bring closure for one another.

I really liked Something Real. It had a little bit of everything that I want in a romance. Obviously, there are elements of bondage, but it is also a super sweet romance between two characters overcoming their past to build on a future together. Fantastic story from a new to me author and I'm excited to see how this series continues.

I enjoyed this book a lot. There was a great connection between the main character, Marcy, and her friend Jen. The dance the main characters have after they met is fun and playful. It was an awesome story with realistic BDSM elements. Anyone who is actually in the community can relate to well written short novel.

Loved it!

Maria, this was an incredible story, besides the back and forth of the 2 men, and being in love, I loved the twist and detail that you provided throughout the story. I found myself excited at the details you provided from the love making, to the lies, to the fights.....it was definitely an attention keeper! I would definitely recommend this book. It will make you evaluate your own life and dig deeper within to really find what (you) as an individual really expect or want from others to find true happiness. Can't wait to real the next novel. A – Yes, we have. Evie Hunter is actually two authors, Caroline McCall and Eileen Gormley. We met at a creative writing workshop in Dublin in 2010.

I've been an Evie Hunter fan for many years now. I was so happy to discover that finally, we got to Maddox's story! The brute with the eyepatch that I was certain was just misunderstood. Was I right? Will he get together with a great woman? Usually, I like the heroine from the start. This time however, at least for me, I didn't. I thought this was really refreshing and something new! I am not sure if this was the intention of the author, but that's how it was for me. She seemed very naïve in many ways and even though she had dedicated her life to others, she often saw things from her own perspective only. As the hero came along, I liked him from the beginning. Well, when I knew it was Maddox, anyway. No spoilers here. The two heroes changed each other's persona as they got to know each other, and I felt like they both grew in character. By the end you could identify with them both and see the situations from their view. They certainly had an exciting time together. My favourite part was a trip to the woods! This book has it all - there's excitement, action, frustration and romance. The erotic scenes hit the spot (..) and the ending was just as I wanted it to be. If you liked the other books by Evie Hunter, go buy this one!

Fortunately, they find their mutual interest in kink a great way to vent frustration with their situation.

The excitement and danger in both the botched escape that brought them to the island and in their efforts to return to civilisation are an adventure worth reading in itself. However, all of the of steamy ( or should that be spicy?) scenes, and plenty of witty lines provide entertainment on many other levels as well.

I have always enjoyed reading the erotica novels and novellas of Evie Hunter. The joint authors, Eileen Gormley and Caroline McCall write with a fluidity and clarity that is a joy to behold. I have not been disappointed with their latest work A Touch of Spice, a story of Arianna McMahon an aid worker in Haiti and Captain H T Maddox who is her saviour when she is kidnapped. It's not just the romance that is attractive but the intricate plot also shines a light on the risks taken by idealistic aid workers in developing countries where political instability can lead to situations fraught with danger. That applies in this novel-length story which is sufficient to attract the reader's attention right through to the final denouement. My only query is what does H T stand for? I'll have to ask the man himself!

This book was so hard to put down. So if you've read the first book stealing or stolen flame you get to meet sapphire. Well sapphire is the lady who, well she really wasn't scared of anything. She is a girl from Brazil who lives in New Jersey and her parents are Catholic. she is not like them. she would rather go out partying and well, hooking up with men. This book had some turns and I really wasn't expecting her story who she fell in love with because, well, I think everybody hated him... or at least I did anyways.
So out of 5 stars I give this book a 10 this book is really good and it keeps you interested and alert and up to to 3 o'clock in the morning to reading it.
Would I reread this book? Yes. Absolutely.
Would u recommend this series? Yes!

I got this book from net gallery for an honest review.

This was an interesting read and I enjoyed reading it from Sapphire and Mason's perspectives.

When we first meet Sapphire in the chamber, she's confident and definitely doesn't show any signs of being distressed or afraid.

A year later, her chamber service has come to an end but she doesn't want to leave because she's free to express herself here whereas, back home she can't be who she truly is around her family. She's fallen in love with Mason but he let her go and didn't ask her to stay.

Does Mason love Sapphire? How will Sapphire cope readjusting to her old life?

You see a completely different side to Mason which was definitely intriguing. Nice short book showing you the chamber from a different pair of eyes.

this is the second book in the series that I've read and it was just as good as the first. this is a fast paced story which is a quick read. the book has fab characters that you will end up falling in love with. i read this book in an hour i just couldn't put it down till id finished it and then i was left wanting and needing more. this story has lots of twists and turns keeping you hooked from one page to the next. i cant wait to read more from this author in the future.

Mated to War is a beautifully brilliant whirlwind that will sweep you off your feet and never allow you to feel the ground. I lost my mind and my heart to this wonderfully imaginative world once again, and I have no regret. Being able to revisit these breathtaking characters was such a wonderful gift and an immense pleasure. I loved watching their lives continue to evolve and progress before my eyes. These characters and their amazing stories have deeply touched my heart in a way that is so hard to describe but so easy to feel and cherish.

Charli Smythe knows how to always be vigilant and on her guard in order to keep herself and her sister safe. She doesn’t know how to feel safe or truly live, but perhaps one day that dream might come true. In the meantime, she does what she can to keep herself hidden in plain sight while watching her back. What she doesn’t expect or want is Judge Martin. He tells her that her future is filled with good things that she can’t even begin to imagine let alone allow herself to dream about. She can’t let herself get distracted by promises, but she can’t deny that his words and intentions carry with them a ring of truth that she feels all the way to her very soul. Can she walk away from such a powerfully undeniable future, or will she come to her senses and continue running before her past catches up with her?

Charli and Judge took me completely by surprise, but I loved every minute of it. They come from two different worlds, but that didn’t stop them from listening to their hearts. However, they never failed to balance reality from dreams when faced with difficult decisions. They counted the cost and then they made a decision that was best for everyone involved. Selfess and stubborn, Charli usually chose to walk her path alone, but Judge refused to allow his heart to walk alone. He stood by her no matter the danger that lurked in the shadows, and for that he deserved all the happiness that Charli and her sister brought to his life.

Emma Anderson is a truly remarkable author who has won my life-long devotion as a reader. Her heart and her soul whispers truth and radiates hope throughout this story. You can’t read this book and walk away the same. Your heart will come away with new vision and new sight as it looks at the world around you. These are the types of stories that have not only made a reader but have also kept me a reader over the years. Without the fire that springs forth from these pages, my heart would wither up and die with no fuel or passion to motivate and drive it. This is my heart’s lifeblood, and I can’t wait to see how she stokes it next time.

Welcome To Sin City and The Fall Of The Four Horsemen. What an awesome hook for the series and this fantastic story. I was completely pulled into the drama and truly enjoyed everything, the romance, the excitement and suspense that had me gripped right up until the end.

This book was Judge and Charli’s story. The main couple connected easily but with a little bit of drama since Charli had been stealing from the casino that Judge and his horsemen brothers owned. Charli was no stranger to the paranormal world so it was no stretch to her when Judge declared that they were mates. However, she promptly stole his car and ran away because she needed to protect her little sister and keep her troubles away from Judge and his people. Of course, the determined alpha male tracked her down and from there the reunion was seamless but not without a fair bit of conflict. There was some tension with one of his brothers and danger from Charli’s past, and even then the suspense wasn’t quite over yet.

Mated To War is actually the third book in this series but it was my first adventure with the four horsemen as they find their mates. Even so I had no trouble catching up and that was because the author did an incredible job with creating the world. My introduction to everyone was subtle and on spot with the steady flow of the series. I got to know the characters and then their history which is the best way and the one I’m most comfortable with reading.

This book was a great read. The characters were wonderful and the writing style was excellent. Of course, the suspenseful plot was the main reason that I liked the story so much. Also, the story had a intriguing set up for the next book in the series with Chaos and I have to say that I am really looking forward to reading that one. So all in all, Mated To War was a winner with this happy reader !
