A different twist!

My first read by Liz and I loved it.
This was definitely a different twist on my favorite superhero. I agree with Liz on sharing your secrets with your beloved. I loved the book, I couldn't put it down. A good erotic fairy tale indeed.
I would love to read more work from the author.

Erotically indulgent scenes that are every man's fantasy (and maybe even every woman's) are showcased within a young woman's adventures during a study abroad program in St. Petersburg, Russia. On her journey finds love in all the right places, finds herself and true love in the end. I had a hard time putting it down. The erotic scenes were not the only thing that kept me turning the pages. There was an honest to goodness tale of revenge and redemption with more happy endings than I could count!

She had her dark moments, too, but make no mistake, Ariel's story is a romance with an unusual happily ever after. Garbage!!!

I pondered over buying this book for a week. I love Alice in wonderland and the fact someone turned it erotic I just couldn't stop thinking about the possibilities. Well this book didn't deliver jack. Every time I thought the sex scene was gonna get hot it didn't happen and there was nothing erotic about it. Alice was annoying and the dialogue at the end between her and the guy she wanted was retarded. Wish I could get my dollar back

Having read the original Alice in Wonderland, as well as the sequel (and the movies), and having loved them all, I couldn't help but pick up this little gem. Liz Adams is a first class writer, with a heck of an imagination and a libido to match.

Alice has never experienced an orgasm, and never has she felt that loss more keenly than when trying to express her interest in childhood heart-throb, her family's gardener, Jack. When she falls down the rabbit hole and enters into this strange new Wonderland, this singular shortcoming becomes her driving challenge to overcome. From one lover to the next, one highly-charged erotic situation to the next, we get to follow Alice in pursuit of the big O. You don't have to be a fan of the original story to keep up with and fall in love with this author's rendition. This is not your grandmother's Harlequin. You won't find your standard-issue, color-by-numbers romance anywhere in these pages, but I loved this book anyway and I thought the ending particularly wonderful. This story is both fun and funny, strangely modern and yet with a Victorian-era feel to the description, and sexy as hell to read. I can definitely recommend it to anyone in search of GOOD erotica. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this book!

it’s pretty damn hot

Wow! An erotic romance that’s superbly written! And classy, not trashy! Yes, it’s pretty damn hot, but it’s also romantic and appropriate and well plotted and populated with characters you’ll fall in love with. Especially Maxwell—the ultimate masculine poet/singer bad boy rock star. “Something muscular, masculine, mesmerizing and magnetic radiated from him, filling the entire hall.”

The authors conjure a world that is both believable and just a little bit fantastic. A perfect erotic fantasy! And OMG, you’ll love the PEZ episodes. Thought I was gonna bust a gut laughing! This book combines heart and heat with adventure and humor.

A lot of chemistry between two main characters

In A Hard Days Night, “girl next door” Abbey receives an unexpected gift that brings her face-to-face with the man of her dreams. This man, Maxwell, is a bad boy rock star. The two of them are as unlikely as Cinderella and her Prince. Maxwell has everything a person could ever dream of: fame, fortune, success, and he can get any woman he wants. Despite that, he feels like something’s missing, and maybe Abbey will be able to fill that void.

Despite their many, many, MANY differences, Maxwell and Abbey have a lot of chemistry between them, and their relationship just…works. Not that there are no ups and downs, but it’s believable. Some parts of the book were really humorous, and the writing was excellent. The author team did a superb job making the characters feel alive, like actual living people, and the plot was never dull – in fact, it had quite a few surprises.

I would recommend this book to all fans of erotic romance; I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Intense!

Reprisal will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat while you turn the pages non-stop. I couldn't put the book down it was so intense! Yolanda definitely has a gift for captivating her audience and leaving them screaming for more! I highly recommend purchasing and reading this book ASAP!

Determined to survive his predicament and get revenge on those who have betrayed him Reprisal is the next gripping book in this series.

Hmmmmm I think the big reveal is yet to come and the game of chess has only just begun. Swing is rescued by the most unexpected of saviours...why!?!? Starting a war between rivals MC's, why is Swing the pivotal player? Some want him dead some need him alive...for now. Can Swing start to unravel the secrets from the lies to find the truth that Pardon is so intent to keep buried? And to just what lengths is Pardon willing to go to? As he calls for yet one more Havoc vote his true loyalties are revealed. Dallas, his son, is torn between his love for Swing and his loyalty to the MC and his father. Battling to find Swing, save him from the certain death he faces at the hands of his own club and keep his activities hidden from the MC can Dallas be trusted?

Oh so many questions...yes there is blood and death. Yes you will read this and be left thinking!?!?! Swing is an enigma wrapped in a mystery and one I would gladly like to unwrap! He is like a black hole, the women in this story can't help but be drawn to him but risking losing themselves to the attraction they feel. Brotherhood will tested. The lines will be crossed. Retaliation is a never ending cycle and I fear the body count is only just beginning to climb!

I'm an avid reader of detective stories. If I have a book in my hand or open on my Kindle, it's more than likely going to be a whodunit. So when I decided to have a bash at writing a novel, it was a murder mystery I started crafting. I loved figuring out clues and red herrings that I hoped would intrigue and baffle the reader. However, when it came to writing about Lucy's reunion with her estranged boyfriend, Noel, I started having trouble. Why had they split up? Had he been unfaithful? Had *she* been unfaithful? Had he taken a job overseas without consulting her? No scenario seemed to suit their personalities. In my head, they'd always had a DD relationship - what if that had caused a misunderstanding? I dismissed this idea - no publisher would want to publish a murder mystery featuring a PI who got turned over her boyfriend's knee when she'd been naughty... Then I discovered there were publishers that actually specialised in books featuring such heroines, and the rest is history. :)

Lucy and Noel also make an appearance in my short-story anthology Are You Sitting Comfortably?, in a mystery story called 'Top Secret'.

Move over Miss Marple

There is another puzzler in the house. Actually, Lucy is like a mixture of a young Miss Marple, Rosemary and Thyme, and several other British who done it characters that I love. Noel is a sports writer and Lucy the PI. She isn't unsafe normally but when she is unsafe enough Noel gives her the slipper. She leaves him because bruises are too much. But she loves the fun spankings and when she needs his help, their love takes over. Read this book. And I can easily see a series. And a following.

a modern "whodunnit" with lots of yummy spankings!

This was my first Bethany Leigh book, and I really enjoyed it!
This was a wonderful combination of Domestic Discipline and Christian DD.

The characters were well written. I adored Lucy. She was a great female character showing the strength and confidence that comes with being a Private Investigator and modern woman. But she also had a softer, submissive side, which I loved.

Noel was sexy, dominant and totally in charge. Sometimes, he got on my nerves for seeming a little overbearing, only to turn around and do something sweet that made me smile.

I really enjoyed unraveling the mystery.
The spankings were awesome.
And I found the Christian aspect to be a great combination with the overall tone of the story.

I really liked this a lot, and can’t wait to read more from Bethany Leigh.

At Dead of Night by Bethany Leigh is a wonderful story about murder, mystery, and intrigue. Lucy, a private investigator, is hired to find out who murdered Marilyn Carter or if her death was truly an accident. As she is investigating she needs to contact her ex-boyfriend to receive information on a source for her case. Noel, a sportswriter, has not heard from Lucy since she broke off their relationship because of a disciplinary spanking. Lucy misses Noel and wants to work things out, but lets misunderstandings stand in her way. As they reconnect as a couple, Noel is determined to keep Lucy safe while the twists and turns of how Marilyn was killed and who was involved kept the intrigue going as the suspects were narrowed down. Usually I am able to guess "who did it" in a mystery; however, this time I was guessing right up to the end . Overall I recommend this book to others who like a great mystery and love story combined.

Falcon Mercenary Book 2

Into the Lair is the 2nd installment of Maya Banks' paranormal Falcon Mercenary Group series. The first was Into the Mist and I would definitely recommend reading them in order. This book centers on the two unstable shape shifting brothers Ian and Braden. Unlike Eli and Gabe, Ian and Braden are not stable shifters and often have to be sedated like Tyana's brother, every time a shift comes upon them.

The Falcon Mercenary group joined with Eli's team of shifters to track down Esteban who was the mad scientist who messed with their genes in the first place. When Gabe (a member of Eli's team) dies he begs Ian and Braden to find his little sister Katie (whom he kept hidden from everyone) because Esteban wants Katie for his own experiments. Esteban figures that if Gabe was stable then Katie as his genetic sister would have a greater chance to be stable as well, add to that that she's a female with viable eggs and you have one sick man chasing after godlike dreams.

While setting up Katie as bait (with out her knowledge of course, men are so dumb) Ian and Braden find themselves both falling for her. It seems as if their panther and jaguar are falling for her as well. The only thing Katie keeps close to her heart is what Gabe taught her... to never trust anyone. This makes for an uneasy threesome!

Out of 10 dirty erotic points, this one hits at a 7 or 8. The explicit scenes are more graphic and dirtier then Into the Mist. Plus there's two of them! Twice as much... fun! So be aware of that when delving into this book. Keep in mind though that Maya Banks is a clever author and never lets the sex get out of hand. The plot is always in the forefront of the novel and the characters make the sex scenes not the other way around!

Not as good as Mist

I would still recommend this book - but I did like Into the Mist better.

Well, we did not really get to know Gabe in the last book and after reading this book I think the guy was basically a jerk. Katie has never had a good or loving relationship - so I can get the trust issues, but please... the constant running was overkill for me.

Now Ian and Branden do make it worse - heaven forbid that they open their mouths and actually talk with Katie.

Keeping the shifting a secret is not possible and Katie does react pretty well. But if you think that Ty was tough, I think that Katie is actually alittle tougher. She is put through the wringer (over and over).

The sex takes a bit of a dark turn, Katie likes it rough and Ian / Branden are up for that. This is not a little spanking, more rough - you better be ready. However Ian and Branden are also loving and willing to give Katie some soft moments.

Loved the D teaser in this. Really want to read his story.

The twist with Esteban was alittle hinky for me. Wish they really explained how he escapes with Katie and more back story on him. Almost wishing for a different ending. He goes from a creepy smary insane guy to hmmm - if only...

Wish Ian had more of a breakthrough like Branden does. But did love that all of the main character from In the Mist were in this book. So, guess that we have not seen the last of Ian/Branden/Katie.

Ian and Braden Thomas made a promise to their fallen teammate to protect his sister Katie. In order to do so the men will have to return to the U.S. to extract her and they'll soon discover that what they thought would be an easy mission is anything but...

Gabe's sister, Katie Buchanan, is no shrinking violet. She's been taking care of herself for a long time and she's facing her own share of problems - which have nothing to do with Gabe or the two men claiming to be sent by him. If there's one thing Gabe taught her it's `trust nobody' and she's taken that lesson to heart.

The simple fact that Gabe has missed their designated check-in phone call time is a horrifying dose of reality as Katie's forced to admit that there's a very real possibility that he's dead. That knowledge along sends her into a panic. She's been hiding from her own problem - namely Ricardo de la Cruz and can't risk him catching up to her. As she prepares to go on the run yet again she receives a phone call on her and Gabe's special line - only it's not Gabe, it's someone calling himself Ian Thomas.

Panicked she flees her apartment only to encounter a black SUV and men intent on taking her with them. Katie assumes these men are Ricardo de la Cruz's goons. He's intent on making her pay for murdering his brother - even though he has no proof that she killed anyone. Once Ian and Braden manage to successfully capture Katie she escapes and lands herself into Ricardo's sadistic hands. Ian and Braden don't give up easily. In fact something about playing chase with Katie arouses their feral instincts. Their attempts to keep their predators safely locked beneath their skin are futile.

Once Katie's back in Ian and Brandon's capable hands she struggles with her desire for them as well as her need to run. Trust doesn't come easily for her and so far Ian and Brandon's actions have proven them to be dangerous to her... and she doesn't even know about their shape-shifting abilities yet. Can Katie, a woman who's never felt safe anywhere, find safety and acceptance in the arms of two unstable shifters?

I've been anxiously awaiting the next book in the FALCON MERCENARY GROUP ever since I read INTO THE MIST. INTO THE LAIR is a thrillingly intense story full of all the passion, wonder, and paranormal elements that I've come to love about this series. Maya Banks pulls out all the stops with this book. Emotionally this plot fulfills every one of my expectations and then some. I laughed, I cried, and I cheered these characters through each and every scene. Katie, Brandon and Ian complement each other beautifully. They're all strong individuals but together they're a force to be reckoned with and the sex is intense and unforgettable.

While it's certainly not necessary to read INTO THE MIST first, I'd highly recommend doing so. The characters and what they've already experienced are far more `real' if you understand what happened in the first book before delving into this one. Now I'll be on the lookout for future books in this series. Damiano, a.k.a. `D' especially broke my heart and I really want to know what happens to him in future stories.

A Lovely, Grounded Romance for the Real World!

This is not the type of book I normally read. A friend gave it to me, and, as a friend, I dutifully read it. Thing is, it's really good. Ms. Scott-Jones has strong story-telling instincts, and a deep understanding of her characters, both female and male. They are presented as believably, sometimes, frustratingly, real (there was more than one point where I wanted to smack some of them upside the head, just to knock some sense into them). There are (happily) no plucky virginal heroines with dancing inner goddesses, no tortured billionaire playboys who claim to be in a lifestyle that the author clearly has no knowledge of, and no contract negotiations. There ARE, however, two perfectly imperfect people, struggling to live their lives with and without each other. Their journey is uniquely theirs, but also beautifully relatable and universal. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Scott-Jones' work, and (hopefully) more stories about Jack & Quinn.

More than meets the eye...

First of all, do not let the cover deceive you. If the image was any more detailed, it would spoil the story. I started reading this book late in the evening. Big mistake. I was up until 3am, because I had to finish it. HAD TO. Aren’t those the best kind of reads?

So everything starts off simple enough. Middle-aged couple, heading off on a cozy little getaway to relax and try to make a baby. Doug and Jillian are a pretty typical couple. Doug is full of cheesy puns (which I love), and Jillian is a little high-strung. They get to their hotel and have dinner at the hotel restaurant, where things get interesting. Apparently, Doug has been to this restaurant before, and he’s quite familiar with the hot little waitress serving them. She worked there twelve years before, when Doug last visited with a friend. As if the awkwardness with Jillian isn’t bad enough, the girl doesn’t look like she’s aged a day. So Doug, the genius who booked a romantic getaway where his past would most likely be waiting to haunt him (good job, Doug!) is ogling the waitress even more. It’s not very conducive to baby-making with Jillian.

What follows has an erotic, mystery vibe to it—which is fun enough on its own—but then things dive off into the vast depths of sci-fi thrillerdom! Strange science and creatures galore! Great fight scenes and even a touch of romance. Oh! And more puns. Can’t forget those. This turn of events was entirely unexpected and glorious. It reminded me just a bit of Christopher Moore’s FLUKE. So fantastic! It’s definitely one I’ll be reading again.

Curse of Obsession

This book is brilliant! The layers of mystery and secrets in this book are mind-boggling. It kept me completely occupied for a full day while I kept racing through all the twists and turns to find out what happens. At it's conclusion, I was left wanting to know more but will obviously have to wait for the sequel. It's not typically the type of book I would read, but I'm glad I did. I would almost say that it is a horror novel, but I don't have much under my belt in that category to compare it to. It's certainly terrifying in parts, especially the 2nd half of the book. I would definitely recommend this book to others looking for something that's a little different.

Creepy mix of mystery, romance, and sci-fi.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I read it over Thanksgiving at the beach which I'm sure enhanced the experience a bit. A mix of sf and horror with a dash of romance is a good recipe for a fun read.

The goods - The dynamic between the protagonist and his wife is believable and complex. They're having marital issues that I've seen up close. They hope that the getaway will fix things and couldn't be more wrong. The SF and mystery elements of this are strong, though the former doesn't get engaged until later in the book. My interest and curiosity stayed piqued throughout. It was definitely a case of "can't put this down".

The bads - Really the only thing that stood out was a bit of muddiness at the end. Something that the author rectified in the newer version of the book (I read a previously published copy.). Even with that, it didn't hurt the reading of the story.

Get this and any other book you find by Mr. Graves.

Llena de sentimientos

Ser parte del inicio de una historia es un privilegio que he tenido dos veces, con dos escritoras que empezaron compartiendo los primeros capítulos de unas frases u oraciones, que surgieron y fueron encadenando más frases, convirtiéndolas en párrafos que poco a poco fueron desarrollando un texto, una temática, que nos fue atrapando línea a línea, página a página.

Tenía muchas ganas de leer la novela completa de Marta, puesto que me había dejado con la miel en los labios… Una historia compleja, con una gran carga de sentimientos encontrados, donde nos damos cuenta de que no es tan fácil tomar decisiones cuando puedes dañar a terceras personas, sobre todo, a personas inocentes.

Consiguió atraparme tanto en la trama que me sentí Clara en muchas ocasiones, y junto a ella lloré, reí, sufrí y amé a Javier Coletto. Muchas veces echamos la culpa al destino por lo que nos ocurre, pero nos olvidamos de un detalle importante, el libre albedrio, ese que nos permite tomar la decisión de seguir un camino u otro. Y eso es lo que ocurre en esta historia, sí, el destino jugo su papel, terceras personas intervinieron, pero solo Clarita tomó sus decisiones.
Tales como darle la oportunidad de acercamiento a Fernando debido al dolor y despecho que sentía, dejarse llevar por la pasión, y… sobre todo, no enfrentar los hechos, huir. Todo eso fueron decisiones, caminos que ella eligió cuando el destino la hizo converger en una bifurcación con dos sendas a elegir: Enfrentar los hechos, o huir y no querer saber nada.

La elección que hizo es la que causó que su destino se adaptara a esa travesía elegida. Y cuando las vueltas de la vida hicieron que Javier y Clara se reencontraran, fue quizás ese destino que dando muchos giros, decidió que ya era hora de que tuvieran su oportunidad, o al menos lo volvieran a intentar.

¿A qué precio lograría Clara su felicidad con el hombre que amaba desde siempre?

Pienso que Clarita fue afortunada al sentir el amor en dos ocasiones, y ser amada tan intensamente, solo que uno de esos amores para mí era un sentimiento egoísta, y el otro, era de esos amores que son capaces de renunciar al ser amado si es por su felicidad, aunque eso les desgarre por dentro. Y ese era el amor de Javier, para él ante todo estaba la felicidad de esa muchachita que le robó el corazón desde muy pequeño.

Una historia que me ha emocionado, me ha hecho llorar y reír, y que tuvo un final… que deben descubrir leyéndola.

Felicito a Marta por la narración de su obra, amena, clara y con una fluidez que te hace meterte por completo en la trama, los cambios del pasado al presente muy bien definidos en el momento justo. Creando una tensión por saber, por descubrir; que no te permite dejar de leer… tanto es así, que lo terminé a las 3:15 de la madrugada de hoy, pero mereció la pena.

A mí me estrujó el corazón… cada uno de los tres personajes implicados en algún momento me tocaron la fibra. Con relación a Fernando como dice un refrán, a veces, Dios le da pañuelos a quien no tiene mocos, o pan a quien no tiene dientes. Con esto quiero decir, que él logró quedarse con ella la primera vez y creo que no la merecía. Pero, ¿Lo logró la segunda?

Concluyo recomendando que no dejen de leer una novela llena de sentimientos, de amor y pasión.

Con un nudo en la garganta por la emoción que tengo, puedo decir que termine "Quédate en el pasado" de Marta D'arguello. Un libro que me atrapo desde el primer momento, no hice mas que leer la primera linea y me vi rehén de tan hermosa historia, cada detalle, cada vivencia la sentí como mía. Cada ocurrencia de los personajes me hizo reír y otras llorar amargamente. Me vi sumida en una angustia tremenda cuando algo iba a acontecer, casi me comí los dedos esperando que lo que venia fuera mejor para los protagonistas. Cada personaje tenia su parte importante que hacia que esta historia fuera atrayente. y cuando ya creía que todo estaba perdido la felicidad golpeo como un haz de luz. Cada cosa pasa por algo y nadie sabe lo que puede acontecer, ni el mismisimo destino. Cada cosa se va gestando día con día para un mejor futuro...
Puedo decir con mucho orgullo que este libro me hizo llorar tanto de felicidad como de tristeza. Me encanto cada capitulo, cada hoja, cada linea.

AMÉ ESTA HISTORIA

Dos días sin hacer otra cosa que estar metida en el mundo de Clarita Oliva. ¡Cómo lo disfruté! Esta historia lo tiene todo. Reí, lloré, me morí de bronca por momentos.
Decir que es una novela maravillosa es quedarme corta. La lectura fluye en un lenguaje nada rebuscado y accesible para ambos lados del charco grande. Los diálogos siempre oportunos, las descripciones en su justa medida que te pintan situaciones y paisajes que te hacen introducirte en la escena como un participante más. La acción sexual tiene un equilibrio perfecto entre lo explícito y lo sugerido. Es tal la riqueza del lenguaje que en ningún momento resulta chocante o repetitivo. Y a pesar de tener casi quinientas páginas y un broche de oro, te deja con ganas de más. Recomiendo sin dudar a Marta D’Arguello, y aunque reconozco que mi opinión no es para nada objetiva ya que soy la orgullosa madrina de esta historia, les pido a todos que la lean y se sorprendan con ésta, la primera de muchas obras que seguramente esta autora nos brindará.
