So yeah, this series is super sexy, but it is so much more than that. Throughout the course of the series, the heroine, Aby, learns to explore her world and finally discovers the woman she is. The woman she wants to be and the life she wants to have. She is amazing. Alex is a hell of a guy to be there by her side as she does this. So yeah, steamy as hell, but the love story is amazing too. And the love Aby finds for herself is just as compelling, if not more than the love she has for Alex.

Everyone at one point wants exactly what they can’t have. The temptation to have something that is completely forbidden is the ultimate enticement of every person’s unfilled fantasy, even if that person is your step-sibling. Our Secret is Jessa Fox’s version of the latest forbidden romance trend of Step Brothers! Our Secret is hot, steamy and tempting.

I loved the idea of this book from the initial synopsis. Taking a dive into the forbidden step brother world sounded like an amazing idea. Griffin and Farrah’s story was sexy, however it was extremely short. I would have loved for Fox to have lengthened this story considerably by building up the angst and temptation between these two characters. Some secret glances, compromising positions, and just general temptation would have went a long way in taking this good story and making it absolutely fantastic.

Although there are things I would have done differently or wanted more of, I think the basis to this story is still good no matter the length. Fox delivered her promised story of a forbidden romance. If you are looking for a quick read sexy scenes, check out Our Secret.

Wow! This is not your typical teenage love story! Teen age step-siblings discover that their feelings for one another are far more intense than loving your sibling! When they come clean and admit their feelings for one another the result is a hot, steamy and very sexy love story! But...will their love survive telling their parents?

Griffin and Farrah are step siblings. They are expected to have the brother and sister relationship. Their feelings go beyond the brother sister relationship. It gets hot and steamy. I liked the story but I didn't realize how short the story was and I wish it was longer.

I'd give 3 1/2 stars if it would let me.... A solid read and top author

I have read quite a few books by Susan Wiggs this past 12 months (Horsemaster's Daughter & A Summer Affair, Miranda, The Firebrand and Halfway to Heaven - all really good and historical in content). She is one of my most favorite authors now. I prefer historical romances and this one had a definite taste of the past. This author is great at weaving a detailed story line, pulling you back in history and creating interesting and unique characters. She spends little time in developing passionate love scenes so, if you want that, look elsewhere. She spends little time making the main content of the book about sex and attraction, if you want that, look elsewhere. If you want a warm hearted story deep with emotion and is fulfilling from beginning to end - stop here.

I wasn't sure I would like this book as a number of readers didn't care for this follow up to Halfway to Heaven. The first book was about sister #1 - Abigail. This book was about sister #2 - Helena. I think anyone who read the earlier book was interested in hearing the story that made up Helena and Michael's broken love story. Although this book was intricate and detailed, I think the most glaring thing lacking in this story was the true connection that was made again between Michael and Helena the second time around. Clearly, their joint son William was the main link and then the woman's retreat they created together at Moon Lake Lodge was the second link. Their continued love and attraction for each other seemed almost lost in the background of all the other events going on in this book (battered woman, suppressed woman's rights, a legal system in place for a male dominated society only, impossible divorces even when a woman needed it, raising a son alone, being an outcast from society and so on).

I liked that Ms. Wiggs tackled the important topic of battered woman - especially in a time as strict and male dominated as the late 1800's. I think she did a good job of allowing Helena to evolve from a pampered and beautiful daughter of a rich and powerful Senator into a mature, independent and intelligent woman in her late 20's - early 30's. She didn't crumbled up and loose it in the face of adversity as expected. Instead, she got smart and she got strong. I liked that Helena didn't stay just a pretty face - instead - she became someone to truly admire and like. I also liked that many of Michael's quirky characteristics remained in this book too - that his socks didn't match, his clothing was often rumpled and messy, his hair too long, his beard too thick, his mind brilliant but, scattered and his heart big but, tender and shy. Micheal and Helena's son William was a joy to read about. He was curious, interesting and appealing as a boy. You could really feel his wonder regarding the world at large and his ever growing fascination with everything around him. Another little mad scientist in the making.

I would have wished for more direct romance between Helena and Michael. Most of their previous lightness, joy and passion were found in the first book and even then, we only got a sprinkling of what happened. I would have enjoyed more flashbacks to warm and tender times and what caused all the attraction in the first place. I think the author had them at odds and fighting and arguing of the past and their differences a bit more than I would have liked. I would have enjoyed some more NEW loving and affectionate moments between the two. There was only one or two moments at the most in the whole book. Their relationship was often contentious regardless of their attraction and long suffering desire for the other. I do read these for the powerful emotions created and although this one had remnants of desire and deep love, it did get a little lost along the way with all the side events happening.

As all stories, this one works out nicely in the end and frankly, the bad guys get their due (Troy Barnes, etc) and the good guys & gals (the ladies at Moon Lake Lodge, etc) - find a way to make a nice life for themselves. This was an enjoyable novel to find out Helena's story and put closure to the lives of the two sisters.

This is always a great author to read. If you start with this book, just know she has many others that are really amazing and will blow this one away so, keep buying and reading Ms. Wigg's stories -you won't be sorry you did. If you are a fan already - you'll probably agree with a lot of things I said. I can't give four stars as this book was missing that passionate and deep element called "amore' - love". Tears and cheers, a sigh of satisfaction

I've been waiting and waiting for this book, after reading HALFWAY TO HEAVEN, which is the sister to this one. Helena definitely married the wrong man, for all the right reasons. But all the good intentions in the world can't turn a bad man good, and once her father and protector dies, her husband Troy (Helena and Troy-ha)turns on her.
Along comes Michael Rowan, the man who tossed her aside years before. This book is the story of why he did that, and why she can forgive him for it.
Funny, funny scenes mingle with horrific and harrowing scenes to create a page turner you will never forget.

Well needless to say, I was disappointed in this book. It had a great plot, and I think could have been much better than what it was. In Halfway to Heaven, Helena and Michael's romance seemed so much more... loving? It was just hotter I guess. Maybe it was the illicitness that made it more romantic, it was just better in Halfway to Heaven.
In Enchanted Afternoon, we finally see Michael and Helena come together after 8 years. Helena has been abused by her husband, senator Troy Barnes, and she wants a divorce, so she contacts Michael. He won't help her until he sees their son William, who he didn't know existed. Helena didn't want to win Michael through an unexpected pregnancy, so she never told him.
Helena leaves her husband and settles at Moon Lake Lodge where she helps other woman who are in similar situations. This part of the story was really great. I definitely saw how Helena had matured, and how she was a dependable and caring woman. She not only tried to better herself, she tried to help other women become something.
Unfortunately, Michael and Helena's relationship just wasn't as good. They were definitely in love, but it seemed too long for them to get there. The story dragged in the middle for me. And then, when they do finally come together and admit their love for each other, the story basically ends. There really isn't a conclusion. I think an epilogue would have made the ending more realistic and given it a definite conclusion. To me, it ended much too abruptly.
I had been really looking forward to this book, and I was disappointed in some respects. In others, such as Helena's character, I was happily pleased. Unfortunately, Michael just didn't seem to gain the same maturity that Helena had. If you want to read Enchanted Afternoon, I would just rent it from the library or a friend. It just wasn't worth buying to me.

La historia que viven Jorge José (alias Joche, alis Bip bip) y Ashley (alias Ashi, alias Menopi), no pudo haber sido mejor contada que como lo es aquí. A Heroine with Moxie and Mojo

I read this novel as soon as I purchased it. My only regret is that there isn’t more. Highly recommended.

Dub-com, bdsm, sci-fi, dystopia, discipline, aliens-who-can-mate-with-human-women, romance, Stockholm.

There is something intriguing and at the same time repelling about Stockholm syndrome stories for me. Appealing is how the heroine – for it is usually a heroine – survives under extreme psychological stress, and through often physical, perhaps brutal, pain or humiliation, total physiologic stress. Repelling to me is how, so often, the very guy (the male MC) who did the foul deed – planned the kidnap, bought the slave, held up the bank or the embassy or the rival gang – ends up administering or inflicting the psychological and physical suffering that the female heroine must endure. The male directly benefits from his abusive behavior.

Sometimes the plot of the story is how the male comes to regret or repent; other times, the heroine finds in the male the hither-to loveable sweet spot. Or she finds pleasure in what was first pain. Or she sinks and he rises to some level of equilibrium.

Author Sophie Kisker separates the roles of the planner and the abuser or inflictor. For me, this is a huge plus. How she does this, and what the results are, would be spoilers. Suffice it to say that I recommend this roller-coaster enthusiastically.

Hot scenes and a great "captive finds love" story!

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this story when I grabbed it (not a huge aliens/sci-fi fan) but that ended up being such a small part of the story! What the story was really about was a woman trying to save herself from the desolate world she came from by volunteering to be a breeder on a new planet. What she -didnt- know was that she had to complete a punishment tour to earn her place there. It has a series of brutal punishments (some of which are incredibly hot!) and the whole time Kisker does an amazing job of building the characters of both Leina and Samiel. I loved that Leina was feisty and didn't just collapse under the pressure of her situation. She also didn't go running to Samiel like he was some white knight, he had to earn her respect and this was something unique to the whole captive girl genre imho. If you're anything like me, you'll find yourself rooting for them to defy the odds and win, and then you'll be sad when the book is over! Excellent story and great writing!

A different type of alien love story

I totally enjoyed this story. You meet a woman, Leina, who lives on a dying planet and agrees to travel to an alien planet to help repopulate their civilization. Her world's attempt to conquer the alien planet resulted in their planet's female population being unable to bear female children. Without a way to repopulate, their world is doomed. Leina agrees to relocate to the alien world to bear children and find a life for herself. She is faced with trials that she is unprepared for and a future she couldn't have imagined. This is a relatively short story of two worlds colliding with a particular twist at the end.

This is the sixth book in the Harpers Cove series, and as expected it is a very good story. While Tasha and Davis's relationship might not be traditional, it is very much a great love story. Davis struggles with being different, Tasha helps him to overcome and their love blossoms. Then there is Gloria, the neighborhood busy body,, walking back alleys, peeping thru cracks, looking over fences, trying to see what her neighbors are up to.. And boy does she find out!!! I love this book and this series, and if you like hot romance that's a little different, you'll love them too. (D'lynn L., Five Stars)
 
I have just loved this series and Tasha and Davis are no exception. A wonderful and insightful look into furries and specifically pony play. While the subject may not be it for everyone, the relationship between Tasha and Davis unfolds and shows the trust needed for these types of relationships. Oh and Gloria gets a little comeuppance so that makes me happy. Some of the neighbors from previous stories make a cameo and I really enjoyed hearing more from Russell (Gloria's husband). I love this series and Gloria is a big reason why as much as you want to hate her you can't help but laugh at her spying on the neighbor. Hot, sexy different,, great!!!

This is the sixth book in the Harpers Cover series, and as expected it is a very good story. While Tasha and Davis relationship might not be traditional, it is very much a great love story. Davis struggles with being different, Tasha helps him to overcome and their love blossoms.
Then there is Gloria, the neighborhood busy body,, walking back allies, peeping thru cracks, looking over fences, trying to see what her neighbors are up to.. And boy does she find out!!! I love this book and this series, and if you like hot romance that's a little different, you'll love them too.

Love visiting Harper's Cove!

I have just loved this series and Tasha and Davis are no exception. A wonderful and insightful look into furries and specifically pony play. While the subject may not be it for everyone, the relationship between Tasha and Davis unfolds and shows the trust needed for these types of relationships. Oh and Gloria gets a little comeuppance so that makes me happy. Some of the neighbors from previous stories make a cameo and I really enjoyed hearing more from Russell (Gloria's husband). Hot, sweet, sexy, fun with a few laughs at Gloria's expense.

Gloria just can't stop

This is really a very quirky kind of book. What more can I say.
That Gloria gets noisier each book. I am saying just leave everyone alone! I like to see her get what she deserves. She didnt much in this book but I feel that MS. Hall is going to let her neighbors have it out with her.
I can't wait to read that book!
Any of these Harper Cove book are just great. I recommend them highly!

I collected my thoughts and took a small sip and clenched my jaws together to push it down. It was about 6 A.M. so I knew Diamond was probably asleep. I went to look in my room and sure enough she was sleeping on her side with the fan blowing on her. She looked like an angel beautiful and pure, looks are deceiving!

Yessssss boo push through. I love love loved it. Why couldn't she end up with Antonio instead of kimo, and then the ending smh poor little tiny think don't even know what's coming...
