Falling In Love With The Pieces Of Him

Alice has another fabulous hit on her hands with Pieces of Him! This is a stunning and captivating storyline that can't be missed.
Max gets into a situation he never saw coming... being a single parent. He thought he would a father from afar, but fate makes that impossible. He's not prepared and not sure what he's going to do.
Emelia is new to town, getting away from an obsessive, controlling mother. She's not one to get into her neighbor's business, but something about Max that she can't keep her opinions to herself. She'll tell him like it is, no questions asked.
Max is intrigued by Emelia, but her age keeps him at bay. Plus she's helping him with Xander is more ways than one. But when Em starts to date, things change for Max. He wants her and he'll take that step that he's been denying himself.
Em is young, but after years living under her mother's thumb, she knows what she wants. The more time she spends with Max and Xander, the more she falls for them. She may not have had many relationships in the past, but she'll do whatever it takes to make this work for the long run.
Is the jerk who never wanted to settle down, finally ready to settle down? Or will the things Em hasn't shared be their downfall? And there is a danger that is lurking that could put one or both of them in a perilous situation.
Every time I pick up an Alice Tribue book, I know I'm going to get a story that is compelling and fascinating and this book is no exception. I loved getting to Max and Emelia. They each have deep seated issues that have shaped them into the people they are today. Despite that, they know they have something special that needs to nurtured and cultivated. They are both strong-willed and fiercely independent individuals. Together, there is nothing that can stop them. They grow and become stronger together, they share a love like no other.
I enjoyed this book immensely. This is a contemporary romance that will bewitch the reader and keep them reading until the end. I love Alice's work and this book has quickly become one my favorites of hers.

Written by Alice Tribue, Pieces of him is just wow. I was about 14% into the book before the tears started. First there’s Max. Max’s mother died leaving his pos dad to raise him. Max is bitter and unhappy and doing everything he can to improve his life. He has a steady job, an apartment and finally saving money and upgrading in life. He has a mutual agreement with a girl from the local coffee shop named Keri. Keri and Max have been "buddies" for 2 yrs. now, their agreement consists of no strings attached, no commitment, nothing. Sex and only sex. Until the days comes that Keri stops by to tell him they need to talk. The words that Max has dreaded to hear after using Keri for what he thinks is the last time before he sends her packing she drops the biggest bomb of all. IM PREGNANT. Fast forward 8 months later Keri gives birth to a healthy baby boy...Max is freaking out; he doesn’t want or know how to be a dad. He’s not ready for this. He thinks he will be able to have quick weekend visits with Keri and the baby and still live the single bachelor life he had become used to.... Until he finds out that Keri has passed away due to complications during the delivery. Can Max handle being a single dad and stepping up in a way he never planned on doing?? Or will he decide the best and easiest path to take would be to give baby Xander up for adoption. Can he move forward and live with the decisions he makes or will he regret them more than anything else. Then there’s Emelia, she has grown up with many privileges. She’s the "poor rich girl" until she decided to leave the home of her over bearing mother and possessive ex-boyfriend she ends up becoming Max's new neighbor. Can she help him make better choices and do what’s best even if it isn’t the easiest choice? I’m giving this book 5 stars for the story line and the way it plays out.

Emotional book!

This book spoke to my heart! It's a story about a man growing up and taking responsibility for his actions.
Max is not up for commitment. His relationships are purely physical until his partner hits him with some big news.
A pregnancy is not in his plans and he prefers to keep his distance...until he cannot.
When a baby is forced into his hands, he will have to make a choice; give away his son or grow up and be a responsible adult.
Emelia is a woman starting over, running from her past and her family. When she meets her new neighbor, something immediately draws her to him. She soon realizes Max's big issue but thankfully, she doesn't stick to the 'first impressions' rule. She wants to help him get stronger as a father and she does just that.
Their relationship is hesitant but strengthened by one thing; Max's son.
When feelings get in the way, what will our unlikely couple do? Fight for their love or push it aside forever?
I am a fan of this author. I loved some of her previous works and this book will melt your heart!
I was amazed by Max's transformation! He really grows up as the story unfolds and becomes a good father and a good man. It was amazing to watch that!
Emilia was a fantastic heroine! I could totally connect with her and I loved, loved how she was with Max's baby!
The one thing that put me off was the unnecessary ex-boyrfriend drama. I felt like the story could totally stand on its own without the added, and slightly overused, theme. Max's story alone and his relationship with Emelia was enough for me.
That said, this was a great emotional read, with great characters! Do not miss it.
