Realistic and Thoughtful

When I first saw this cover, I didn't think I would like it but surprisingly, this book didn't suck. The first thing I appreciate was the fact that this story is from the guy's point of view and he's not a complete moron who uses the F word to sound tough or lie to women in order to get them into bed; not all men are A-holes.
This guy graduated college and is a physical therapist, and all the times when he was with his patients were great. Alicia Porter is hot and in considering how the whole thing came about in leading him to become an escort was interesting. What guy wouldn't go for that and the reality of it may answer that question. It wasn't all hot women paying to hook up, it was housewives, older women, single women, mothers, and women who don't have the best confidence in themselves; all which felt pretty accurate to me. I can see how he would fall for Kate and it's not so easy trying to go out with a girl who already has all of the assumptions about the kind of guy you are figured out. Guy's don't have it easy being the ones that have to do most of everything, including trying to understand what is going on in a girl's mind.
I accepted in an ARC for an honest review. I gave this 4 Stars for content, accuracy, writing, and story; subtract one star for the cover because I didn't like it.

Have you ever read a series where each book got better and BETTER? A series where you fell in love with the characters even more with each installment? Yes? Well, that was my experience while reading The Desert Pleasures by Zoe Blackwood. While each book can technically be read as a standalone, I would recommend you read them all because you will connect with the characters even more.
Let me say that Alicia owns one heck of an escort company. Her, uh, escorts are not only incredibly hot and sexy, but incredible intriguing too! I loved reading all their stories — and they where quite the stories! Oh, my! Hot scenes and great plot lines made each book a must read for me!
Zoe Blackwood's writing was appealing and easy to connect with! She certainly brought her characters to life and I had no problem envisioning the scenes and everything unfolded. I will certainly be checking out Zoe's future books as I truly enjoyed (A LOT!) reading this series!

Okay - I LOVE JAMES. I think he might be my favorite character in the series! How he treated the ladies in the book was very sweet and I genuinely loved that about him. One thing I truly did like was how some of the details in the book were very realistic, down to earth and easy to connect with. The story had a smooth flow with a plot that was paced really well. Nothing felt rushed or short-handed. All in all, another great and addictive installment in a fantastic series!! 4.5 PaperCutPrincess Stars!
