Kait was born and raised in the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest and started writing to entertain herself during the long winters as a child. Jackie and Logan have a past. They used to be in love, until something tore them apart. Imagine their surprise when they see each other after years apart while acting as attendants at a destination wedding. The bride is Jackie’s childhood friend and the groom needed someone to fill in for a missing groomsman. Logan is the developer of the security system of the resort and agreed to help the groom out. Each thought the other left them in the past.
Upon seeing each other, they both feel the intense attraction to each other as if time never passed. Logan sides up to Jackie in the pool and shows her just how hot she makes him. They agree to use the time together to burn off some sexual tension and get the closure they never got before. Before long, their agreement turns to more and they fall in love with each other.
While I really enjoyed the story and the couple reconnecting, I found the misunderstanding of their breakup to be frustrating and made Jackie seem very immature. I understand how feelings get hurt and the misinformation about their breakup caused them to move on. But, why wouldn’t they contact each other after realizing that they left? I just didn’t fully understand the problem.
Other than that, the writing was great and the characterization well done. I really enjoyed the details of the beach, resort, and hotel and could envision each place in my mind very easily. Overall, this is a good story with that one thing that bothered me.

Sexy and sweet and erotic and fun

I think I might be a masochist, since reading about a tropical locale when there's 4 inches of snow on the ground and no vaca in sight is dreadfully painful (but I loved every minute of it)!
Once upon a time, good girl Jaqueline Pennington was in love with bad boy Logan Forrester. Their love affair was on par with a fireworks detonation, but alas, their teenage hearts exploded just as intensely.
Fast forward to present day, and the once hot and heavy couple unexpectedly reunites on the beautiful island of St. Lucia for the wedding of mutual friends. Logan was heartbroken when Jackie left him, and now he has a chance to remind her what she gave up all those years ago. Jackie remembers their parting the other way around, Logan walking away from her and not looking back. Both agree to a vacation fling, but neither expect the strong emotions that threaten to crush them both. When the truth is revealed about their shared heartache, will either still be willing to give another shot at love?
I really enjoyed this second chance romance FUEL TO THE FIRE, part of the Totally Five Star series. The chemistry between Jackie and Logan was palpable, and add in the sexy and exotic locale, the romance of a wedding and the irresistible temptation of first love's reuniting, and FUEL TO THE FIRE becomes one steamy and sultry read! Logan and Jackie were both terrific characters and seemed made for one another, though it was frustrating that they kept putting off talking to one another in any serious way regarding their pasts. I wanted to smack Caroline, the bride, because Logan was right - she seemed to do everything she could to discourage his reunion with Jackie. That said, the anticipation of finding out what REALLY happened all those years ago held me glued to the pages and flipping furiously to find out.
The setting was stunning, and if there really are resorts out there that have aquariums built into a mountain, then sign me up! I felt like I was there with the couple, experiencing the sand between my toes, the oil-filled messages on my body, the decadent food on my tongue. Ms. Gamble did a fantastic job with FUEL TO THE FIRE, and I definitely want more of the Totally Five Star series!
Bottom Line: Sexy and sweet read that was frustrating and erotic and fun all rolled into one. Put this one in your TBR pile!

Fun, sexy summer read...

One night a couple weeks ago I was looking through my Kindle for something quick and fun to read. While perusing, I came across Kait Gamble's Fuel to the Fire. Since I had previously read (and loved) her short story Cuffed, I got comfortable and started Jackie and Logan's story. Kait Gamble is quickly becoming a new favorite of mine. I could not put this book down! Fuel to the Fire gives readers a little bit of everything. At its core, it is a sweet second chance romance between two lovable characters. Jackie won me over from the moment I met her. I adore characters that feel like they don't quite fit in. My heart always goes out to them and it was no different for Jackie. Although she broke his heart, Logan still loved her for who she is. He'll stand up for her against anyone. I loved that quality in him. As readers follow their romance, we're also treated to a little bit of naughtiness. The exotic location offers them time to explore their desires as they grow closer once again. I loved Fuel to the Fire and was addicted to Kait Gamble's writing so much that I immediately started Grind, the first book in her The Long Way Round series. It was a Kait Gamble kind of weekend!
